Windows 8 Release Date

The next version of Windows has already generated enough heat in the cyber space. The upgrade from Windows 7 is much talked about already, with techno websites taking a dive into what possibly could be the things Windows 8 could offer.

Needless to say, Windows 7 was one of the most successful releases from Microsoft – after a debacle with its Vista. However, Windows 8 seems to build straight from the interface bliss of 7 and has some awesome features in store for the user.

Windows 8 did not premier in any of the press meets at the CES 2012 and that was something everyone knew would happen. But the Windows 8 interface on a tablet was eye-candy. Microsoft, however, stated that this February would see a milestone public beta release – which fairly puts the Windows 8 release date closer than previously speculated.

In another report, it looks like there has been a mention of the 3-year gap between subsequent releases. The time frame seems to suggest the Windows 8 release date to be quite positively in October as the last release was three years earlier, in October 22nd 2009, when Windows 7 was released.

Windows PR Director Janelle Poole was quoted as saying:

“One of the things that I think is a good guideline though is we’ve always said that Windows releases come round about every three years and this year will be three years in October since we launched Windows 7. So I think that’s a good guideline to consider.”

That ‘good guideline to consider’ has raised a lot of hopes on an October release. So Windows 8 release date – most probably October 2012!
